Rose was a lifelong Cambridge resident living on Allston St. for 92 years, she was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church until closing in 2004 having been active in both the school and church including Sodality, and was a member of the Sancta Maria Auxiliary for many years. In her earlier years Rose worked as a bookkeeper for the S.S. Pierce Company. After raising her children and being care giver to her Mother she returned to work within the food service industry working for ARA until her retirement. She loved to travel yearly with her husband and together they enjoyed many tours and cruises, her favorite being a trip to her parent's home country, Ireland. Rose loved a bargain, cutting coupons and taking advantage of a good sale. Purple was her favorite color. She loved ice cream and cookies enough that she was asking for them in her last days. Her family wants to express their gratitude to the numerous nurses, doctors and health care personnel who followed Rose these many years, particularly since her final health journey began just over a year ago with the Myasthenia Gravis diagnosis. Their professionalism, kindness and support has been outstanding and they helped make her last year the best possible both physically and emotionally considering the health challenges. A special thank you to Janet Henry who came to Rose 3 days a week for almost a year and helped Rose maintain her sense of self and dignity right to her final day.
